Design for Humanization of Technology 

The idea of living in the office (the corporation as a home) for more productivity is gaining ground. Working people are encouraged to stay on the premises as long as possible and enjoy it. By furnishing the workspaces like living-rooms, creating the rigth ambience and supplying this environment with advanced technical equipment, an optimised work climate can be achieved. Opposites, such as sleeping and working, which until now were thought to be incompatible, should be united in the office of the future by offering facilities for satisfying the generally felt need for five to ten minutes sleep during a working break. Within the European IST-programme 1:1 furniture was built with students, exhibited at the Salone Internationale in Milano.
